On the trek to Pathivara, everyone can find a unique confluence of natural beauty, rare animals and plants.

As the Pathivara templetemple is at a very high altitude, the world’s third highest peak, the Kanchenjunga mountain range, Kumbhakarna, Makalu, Kangwachen and Lotse Himal can be seen from here,  Apart from this, there are more than 200 species of birds including the national bird Danphe, thorny vulture found only in Nepal, 152 species of flowers, 28 species of red gourds, rare red panda, leopard, Himalayan black bear and more than three dozen other wild animals also can be seen.

More than 50 species of valuable herbs like Panchaonle, Kudki, Jatamasi, Chiraito are found in this area. The area is considered a natural museum for biodiversity researchers, with views of the rising and setting sun.

Pathivara temple Devi is considered as real Devi. It is said to be full of grain because it is shaped like a basket of full of grain. At night, after the goddess instructed him to worship with a sheep sacrifice, he worshiped accordingly and all the lost sheep were found. After that, there is a religious belief that the goddess is worshiped as a real goddess. According to the traditional belief, it is known as ‘fulfilling one’s aspirations’. How to be safe on the trip?

As Pathivara is at an altitude of 3,794 meters, the temperature is usually zero degrees. Even if you may feel a headache and some discomfort, you don’t have to worry much. This may be due to the smell of various mountain flowers.

Visitors should carry home remedies such as hot water, roasted corn, ginger, garlic, hot food and beverages, and warm clothing to preven high altitude sickness.

The road length is 237 kilometers. The path of Taplejung can be reached through various routes. The fare from Birtamod in Jhapa to Taplejung is Rs 750.

It costs Rs 300 to reach Sanofedi from Phungling Bazaar. After that, you can reach Pathivara templein about 2 hours.

In places like Sano fedi and Thulophedi, you have to pay Rs. 200 to Rs. 250 for food and up to Rs. 500 for lodge.
